Reference and resource materials are a very integral part of what IGES does as a support unit. The materials help in building awareness and understanding, articulating issues, widening perspectives and providing hands-on tools to educate and communicate around issues.

Policy: IIT Delhi Sexual Harassment of Women at the Workplace Policy

IIT Delhi has an internal policy for Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal of cases of Sexual Harassment of women at the Workplace based on the Sexual Harassment of Women at the Workplace Act 2013. Any woman learning and working in the Institute can file a complaint with a statutory committee (Internal Complaints Committee) under this policy.

Speaking of Women in STEM

Women in STEM Poster collection was developed by IGES to commemorate women's contribution to science, technology and engineering fields. The Blue Book by TARSHI (Talking About Reproductive Sexual Health Issues) is a basic material to understand the concept of Sexuality and its role in the lives of young adults. TARSHI is a Delhi based organisation which works towards expanding sexual and reproductive choices in people's lives.

The poster is designed by a Delhi based organisation named Partners for Law in Development to illustrate the myths and realities of Sexual Harassment of Women at the Workplace (SHW). PLD is a legal resource group pursuing the realisation of social justice and equality for women.

A booklet by Jagori for young people on how to prevent, recognise and respond to Sexual Harassment at public spaces and workplaces. Jagori is a Delhi based organisation working on issues related to women and gender-based violence. 

Article: Sexual Violence 2012-2018 and #MeToo, Mary John

This article by Mary E. John, 2019, traces the uprisings of young people, especially women against Sexual Violence since 2012. It illustrates the relationship between gender inequalities and sexual violence existing in patriarchal institutes of the society which push women further towards the margins and promote gender injustice.  

Vishaka Guidelines

In 1997, India celebrated a landmark judgment by the Supreme Court, which mandated the Vishaka Guidelines, ensuring redress and prohibition measures on sexual harassment of women at the workplace. This guideline laid the foundation for the Sexual Harassment of Women at the Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013.

SAKSHAM report on Safety of Women and Gender Sensitisation on Campuses

The University Grants Commission constituted a Task Force to conduct a study to understand the issues related to safety of women and gender. This study report could be a guideline for Institutes to promote gender-inclusive and safe practices as it highlights the Measures for Ensuring the Safety of Women and Programmes for Gender Sensitisation on campuses

Regulation: UGC's Regulation for SHW in Higher Education

The Regulation came in 2015 to mark an important step forward in making higher education more accessible to women students in India and establishing positive mechanisms like Internal Complaints Committees with elected student representatives in all colleges to address the challenge of sexual harassment and gender-based violence.
